What is a Polar Plunge?
WHAT is a polar plunge?
Our Insanity for Humanity Polar Plunge is a crazy way to help our neighbors. We can’t think of any better way to have fun while loving people than eating food, playing games, and plunging into the freezing cold Atlantic as we raise money for International Network of Hearts. If you have a little crazy in you, then join us for a day at the beach!
HOW does the plunge work?
These are the steps you can take to be a part of the event.
PROMOTE- Help us get the word out! With each donation, you can choose which university/team your donation will go to. The winning team will get rewarded at the Plunge. 100% of the proceeds go to help fight sex trafficking!
PARTY- Join us on Sat, Feb. 21st, to have a blast and raise money for an incredible cause. Registration starts at 11:30 am, and we will have games, coffee and donuts, as well as free prizes for the top fundraiser and some of you who give. You MUST register by noon in order to plunge. Throughout the registration process, we invite you to donate to help us stop human trafficking. Our suggested donation is $35, which gets you a beanie, but we challenge you to give more. We also encourage you to raise money in whatever way you can: Sell homemade cookies, do a friend’s homework, donate plasma, babysit, walk your neighbor’s dog, whatever! Check out our resource section for some help.
PLUNGE- Then, at noon, we jump into the freezing, cold Atlantic. Spectators and friends are welcome. Make sure you come prepared to plunge, as this year we don’t have access to the inside space. Afterwards, we will have firepits to get warm, and if you don’t want the party to stop, meet us at Oak Hill Tavern up the street for drinks and food.
WHEN is the plunge?
Saturday, February 21st, 2026. We start registration at 11:30 am with games, food, and prizes, and then plunge around noon. Registration ends at noon.
WHERE is the plunge?
The party will be at North Kingstown Town Beach. 30 Beach Road, North Kingstown, RI.
WHO is invited to the plunge?
YOU, of course, as well as other people from around the state. So invite your friends and family to enjoy a day at the beach…. in February! If you are a college student, grab your dorm-mates and classmates to be the best-represented school at this crazy event.
WHY do a plunge?
Why not is a better question. Do we really need a reason to eat amazing food and jump into the freezing cold Atlantic? Ok, well maybe… but we are doing this to help raise money for a great non-profit organization that provides services and support to children who have survived sex trafficking. International Network of Hearts is dedicated to not only rescuing but bringing hope, safety, and empowerment to young girls and boys who have been rescued from sexual slavery by:
Providing a confidential residential home where survivors can find hope and refuge from violence.
Creating a nurturing and structured environment where survivors can heal from years of trauma.
Giving survivors the tools they need to achieve their full potential.
Raising international awareness about the crime of human trafficking.
Providing training to law enforcement and other first responders in the identification of victims.
Building multi-agency protocols to improve the response to victims of human trafficking.
